@Julieanne-Marie-Klinger

Had a brief chat with Shaun from Fused Flora.

He's tried around 30 different batches/suppliers. He said Hirsuta has a low ceiling and is very hard to get dialed in. It’s also very course so you should use a scale. Hard to say what amount is best for you, but he takes 3.5 grams, gets wobbles at 3.8 grams, and no effects at 3 grams. It’s a very small window.

Thanks for posting about this. I’ve been seeing more and more people talking about hirsuta recently, many complaining about issues after taking too much. Hopefully this helps others avoid what you went through.

And please get a scale, there’s really no way of knowing how much you’re taking without one. Even plain kratom powder varies in density, especially with the new nano grinds becoming popular.  Amazon has a bunch around $10.

I had recommended him. If the hirsuta is from Shaun it’s very likely good quality, and probably a dosing issue. Have you reached out to him?

@Andrew-Goldin I'll do my best to dig a little deeper and answer some of those questions. As far as the younger trees go, I have two that are 7ft tall and 2 years old and several that are 5 foot in about a year old and have yet to harvest anything viable off of them and I sure want them to produce something. They are healthy and robust

Couple of blog posts from Magick powers potions debunking the theory that young trees don’t have mitra (warning their site is annoyingly slow).

I do think that a hydro grower could grow quality Kratom, but I question whether they could provide quantity.

I was talking to a guy this weekend that owns a Kratom bar locally. He was talkin to me about his source and was telling me it's hydroponically grown and that the quality is superb. Which got me to thinking. If it takes 4 or 5 years before the plant is producing the proper alkaloids how can they possibly be hydroponically growing trees of that size? Or is there a way to produce what we want in shorter periods of time and on smaller plants

Hope it’s not contaminated, and that it’s actually hirsuta as opposed to a Kratom blend or something else. Did it taste different? I’ve heard hirsuta tastes worse than kratom. If it was me I’d ditch it and contact the vendor.
